International Sales Operations Manager

Position Purpose

Acting on own initiative and as a key member of International team, the International Sales Operations Manager supports the Monthly / Annual Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) activities of the Company. The Manager is also responsible for providing input and key data to the case goods production planning team and bulk wine planning team to ensure forecast, planning, and inventory accuracy. This role will ensure all planning processes are documented and continuous improvement is applied. The International Sales Operations Manager will work cross-functionally with other team members in Sales, Marketing, Sales Finance, Planning, Procurement, Logistics, Distribution, Customer Service, and external winery customers and contract bottlers.

  • Immediately informs management of employee issues, concerns, and complaints in an objective and confidential manner
  • Ensures compliance and consistent application of company policies, initiatives, and decisions

Essential Duties

  • Manages the innovation process for the International Team; includes partnering with finance for financial analysis, strategizing with the commercial sales team for 3-year forecast horizon and pipeline fill, and collaborating with Supply Chain on production feasibility and supply chain constraints; as well as presentation to the Innovation Committee for approval and guiding the project/s through the NPD process
  • Leads the wine label regulatory process for the International team ensuring that all wine labels meet the constantly changing global regulatory environment
  • Owns the registration process for new customers and annual renewal for certain countries, including Letters of Authority with Consulate signatures as required
  • Manages the relationship with customers and monopolies for form submissions for new tenders and prepares revised tenders
  • Functional lead that oversees the International team to ensure alcohol % changes, vintage transition and lifecycle are managed on behalf of International team with NPD, Compliance, Procurement and Customer Service
  • Owns the tactical and strategic allocation process across all sales zones by collaborating with commercial sales team and supply chain
  • Manages the Sales and Operating Planning (S&OP) cadence for the International team, adhering to all S&OP timelines for analysis & executive summary deliverables
  • Subject Matter Expert for International S&OP discussion and decisions
  • Manages the day-to-day relationship with International customers and advises the contract bottler in Europe for supply chain, compliance product requirements, quality issue resolution and winery production/inventory scheduling
  • Oversees continuous improvement on planning and forecasting by reviewing shipment trends and market conditions, including providing recommendations and implementing solutions
  • Manages forecast analysis and recommendation for International cased goods shipments and bulk wine shipments to bottling partners in other countries utilizing shipment data, sales plan, and statistical modelling.
  • Utilizes material requirements planning (MRP), International partner requests, and internal input to recommend demand signal changes to maintain planned days of supply inventory to support sales plan, promotions, new product introductions, seasonality trends, transit lead time, and safety stock
  • Develops processes and algorithms to integrate contract bottler inventory, depletions, winery inventory, and sales/demand forecast into supply chain plan; champions system and tool development with IS as required to support International processes
  • Provides reporting to Sales and Marketing on vintage transitions based on cased goods and bulk wine inventory and run rates
  • Prepares ad-hoc reports and analysis to support recommendations and end to end supply chain inventory position
  • Identifies and addresses potential service level issues and impacts by performing root cause analysis and taking corrective action
  • Determines root cause of Cased Goods and Bulk Wine forecast variances and service failures, communicates results
  • Prepares and maintains relevant reports pertaining to replenishment planning process Responsible for monitoring and escalating cased goods replenishment issue

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience 
  • 5+ years direct experience in demand planning, inventory planning, production planning; or combination of the following functions: supply chain, planning, sourcing, and supply, and/or manufacturing 
  • SAP experience a plus.

Certificates and Licenses

  • Certified Professional Forecaster (CPF) or American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Good communication skills, interpersonal skills, and proven problem-solving ability
  • Strong computer and Excel skills 
  • Ability to report and analyze multi-dimensional data and complex information
  • Possess knowledge of supply chain activities
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical skills and high energy for business process improvements

Working Conditions

  • General office environment with occasional travel
  • Required to drive automotive vehicle or equipment
  • Indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to the elements/temperature variations

​ California Pay Transparency Disclaimer: This is a Exempt position. The pay range for this position is $91,062.24 to $142,541.76. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity and alignment with market data.
