Treasury Manager

Position Purpose

Acting on own initiative, the Treasury Manager, is responsible for managing day-to-day treasury operations within the organization which includes: cash operations, collections, bank relationship management, compliance, system application support, finance transactions, and leadership.  This position supports process excellence initiatives by optimizing  financial and operational controls, while monitoring and ensuring financial statement accuracy.

Functional Responsibility

  • Manages and monitors day-to-day operations and team performance to ensure smooth workflows and that company standards are met
  • Manages company culture and holds self, peers, and direct reports accountable for demonstrating a constructive company culture through influential, personal behavior and actions; encourages strong work ethic and fosters an environment of trust and respect
  • Develops and aligns individual goals with the department's operational goals; ensures that decisions, actions, and priorities are aligned with the company's vision, mission, and strategies
  • Researches best practices, stays abreast of industry trends, and maintains awareness of regulatory changes to ensure compliance and continually improve operations
  • Assists in preparing the departmental budget, monitors spending, and directs team in cost-effective operations to ensure adherence to financial objectives
  • Monitors performance and regularly communicates with direct reports to achieve mutual understanding and desired results
  • Partners with immediate manager to determine staffing needs; attracts, motivates, and retains a workforce with the appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities to achieve goals and objectives
  • Provides employees with a safe, healthy, and rewarding work environment; ensures delivery and completion of monthly safety topics
  • Communicates and supports change initiatives and decisions in an effective manner to successfully guide team through change
  • Fosters a work environment that encourages creative thinking, promotes flexibility, and drives innovation
  • Addresses employee issues, concerns, and complaints in an objective and confidential manner; notifies HR Business Partner and keeps immediate manager informed as appropriate
  • Ensures compliance and consistent application of company policies, initiatives, and decisions
  • Coaches, guides, and develops direct reports; fully engages in the GPS (Performance Management) process; provides high-quality feedback, and ensures proper GPS documentation of employee performance, recognition, and deficiencies

Essential Duties

  • Manages day-to-day treasury operations including corporate cash management, banking structure and funding operations
  • Act as corporate treasury liaison in conducting business with outside financial institutions 
  • Oversees all aspects of Company's cash management processes, including fund transfers, cash management banking, requests for proposals, and influencing business transactions throughout the organization to ensure competitive pricing of cash management services
  • Responsible for preparing financial reporting and compliance requirements 
  • Develops, implements, and enforces policies, procedures and internal controls around cash operations, treasury systems and reporting, financing compliance and transactions
  • Oversees the management of the corporate card program and the Concur Travel & Expense (T&E) process
  • Responsible for reviewing and compiling the Company’s operating lease schedule
  • Researches, recommends, and implements treasury systems solutions and enhancements to support operations
  • Contributes to strategic planning regarding budgeting and forecasting
  • Ensures financial policies, procedures, and systems are future focused and support company vision, culture, and protect company interests
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Ensures integrity of all accounting and financial reporting, budgeting, planning and analytical activities while fostering sound business practices, cost effectiveness, and financial accountability
  • Participates in special projects and compiles a variety of special reports as needed, including audits and performing ad hoc analysis

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years accounting experience with demonstrated growth
  • 3+  years in cash management or banking background preferred
  • 2+ years leadership experience 

Certificates and Licenses

  • CPA certification preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Solid understanding of GAAP accounting and thorough knowledge of accounting principles is required
  • Experience with MS Office and Financial systems
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong ability to seek information and problem-solve

Working Conditions

  • General office environment with occasional travel
  • Required to drive automotive vehicle or equipment
