Supply Chain Planning Manager

Work Location Delicato Vineyards Manteca 

Position Purpose

The Supply Chain Planning Manager is responsible for providing team oversight of the case goods production planning team.  Provides leadership to case goods scheduling in Manteca, Geyserville, Monterey, Black Stallion, contract production, MTO line, materials forecasting and capacity planning. Ensures all planning processes are documented and continuous improvement is applied, including adherence to ERP best practices through coaching and monitoring team activities. Builds strong business partnership across Supply Chain, Accounting, Winemaking, Marketing and Bottling/Cellar Operations to support company strategies.

Functional Responsibility

  • Manages and monitors day-to-day operations and team performance to ensure smooth workflows and that company standards are met

  • Develops and aligns individual goals with the department's operational goals; ensures that decisions, actions, and priorities are aligned with the company's vision, mission, and strategies 
  • Researches best practices, stays abreast of industry trends, and maintains awareness of regulatory changes to ensure compliance and continually improve operations
  • Assists in preparing the departmental budget, monitors spending, and directs team in cost-effective operations to ensure adherence to financial objectives
  • Monitors performance and regularly communicates with direct reports to achieve mutual understanding and desired results
  • Partners with immediate manager to determine staffing needs;  attracts, motivates, and retains a workforce with the appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities to achieve goals and objectives
  • Provides employees with a safe, healthy, and rewarding work environment; ensures delivery and completion of monthly safety topics
  • Communicates and supports change initiatives and decisions in an effective manner to successfully guide team through change
  • Fosters a work environment that encourages creative thinking, promotes flexibility, and drives innovation
  • Addresses employee issues, concerns, and complaints in an objective and confidential manner; notifies HR Business Partner and keeps immediate manager informed as appropriate
  • Ensures compliance and consistent application of company policies, initiatives, and decisions
  • Coaches, guides, and develops direct reports; fully engages in the GPS (Performance Management) process; provides high-quality feedback, and ensures proper GPS documentation of employee performance, recognition, and deficiencies
     

Essential Duties

  • Responsible for the monthly Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) meeting to ensure consensus on planning rates, production plans, capacity and resource projections, quality trends, inventory management and other operational topics
  • Manages and improves case goods production planning and inventory management from short-term firmed schedule to long-term strategic plan, via collaboration across the supply/ops teams
  • Assesses current SAP MRP and scheduling processes, ensures exception monitoring best practices and is a key member of the cross-functional Technology Innovation Lean Team (TILT)
  • Leads Production Planning team through change management,  of ERP upgrade across Master Data, Production Schedule, Inventory Management and cross-functional collaboration; provides leadership and guidance through implementation, execution, monitoring and completion
  • Provides metrics, reporting and mid-term capacity plans for case goods production and warehousing to support supplier forecasts, crewing decisions and capital expansion
  • Oversees creation and maintenance of finished goods master data in SAP, with processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy
  • Supports new product introduction and life cycle management integration into SAP and planning processes
  • Oversees materials obsolescence process to minimize costs and inventory
  • Ensures the planning process supports customer service to minimize out of stock and meet service objectives, while adhering to inventory targets

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree (Supply chain management, Operations, Finance or Logistics preferred) or equivalent years of experience
  • 7+ years background in supply chain planning, master scheduling and forecasting
  • 5+ years in leadership or management experience
  • Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP required.
  • Operations and Lean continuous improvement experience is a plus

Certificates and Licenses

  • Certifications in CPF, APICS, CSCMP certification, Lean Operations and/or Inventory Management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience working with large ERP Systems (SAP, JDE, etc.) and automated planning tools
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite tools
  • Self-motivated with high energy for business process improvement, development and implementation
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Strong communication skills- influential and highly collaborative
  • Cross-functional relationship management
  • Ability to excel in a challenging and changing environment during periods of rapid growth

​ California Pay Transparency Disclaimer: This is a Exempt position. The pay range for this position is $91,062.24 to $142,541.76. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity and alignment with market data.
