Accountant II

Work Location Delicato Vineyards Manteca 

Position Purpose

Under minimal supervision, the Accountant II provides accounting support and is responsible for accounting tasks including journal entries, account reconciliations, and account analysis. This position is also responsible for advanced tasks on more complex accounting activities. 

Functional Responsibility

Essential Duties

Responsibilities based on area of support:

Treasury 

  • Performs daily analysis of all Treasury transactions and generates all appropriate general ledger postings
  • Confirms the integrity and accuracy of automated processes and transactions 
  • Works closely with the business to investigate and resolve any Merchant cash variances
  • Prepares deposit transactions as needed on a weekly basis and processes GL journal entry
  • Initiates international and domestic wire payments as needed
  • Navigates various banking portals to investigate variances
  • Serves as liaison for treasury and merchant outside agencies
  • Responsible for cash accounting related to all Direct to Consumer/Merchant services for all locations 
  • Navigates various banking portals to investigate any variances
  • Supports the month end process where necessary
  • Provides support for cash postings
  • Support annual PWC audit requests

General Ledger

  • Analyzes and reconciles complex balance sheet account reconciliations, including identifying and resolving discrepant items
  • Prepares and posts complex accounting journal entries
  • Provides support for DTC activity and postings
  • Works with cost center managers on spending analysis, researches discrepancies and makes correcting adjustments
  • Offers guidance to other business units regarding GAAP policies
  • Proactively ensures there are adequate internal controls within accounting and works with other functions to ensure adequate controls exist for processes that impact accounting.
  • Identifies control weaknesses and inefficient processes; initiates, develops, and implements process improvements

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or in Business with an emphasis in Accounting
  • 5+ years business experience

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience analyzing informational data in an ERP configured system
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems independently
  • Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data
  • Advanced use of Excel worksheets 
  • Ability to gather and compile data , and prepare reports
  • Executes effectively by using resources efficiently, meeting deadlines, and keeping others informed of work plans and progress toward goals

 

Working Conditions

  • General office environment with occasional travel
  • May be required to drive automotive vehicle or equipment

It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
