Materials Coordinator

Work Location Geyserville 

Position Purpose

The Materials Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the execution of planned production orders, which includes communication of schedule changes, providing new information and ensuring productivity. This role will support these operations concurrently while working closely with the Planning and Compliance departments, ensuring all documentation is processed accurately.  This position will also generate transfer orders, move materials between facilities and work with leadership to account for and track production and spending trends.

Functional Responsibility

Essential Duties

  • Provides pick sheets to the Skilled Material Handler (SMH) for the daily production needs
  • Prepares all necessary documents and communicates any scheduling changes to SMH
  • Provide direction to SMH when necessary to maintain productivity
  • Makes transfers of materials between Operations in accordance with guidelines, as needed
  • Transacts SAP (ERP Software) moves to accurately process inventory
  • Executes activities in SAP related to production demand
  • Collaborates with planning and production to optimize scheduling and material availability
  • Works with Compliance, Customer Service, Distribution, Planning and other customers to ensure all documentation is processed accurately
  • Maintains accurate inventory levels for raw materials through cycle counts; investigates and resolves material issues with Inventory Coordinator and Distribution team
  • Communicates with internal and external suppliers / customers to coordinate material deliveries as appropriate
  • Receives materials for production lines including subcon POS (Point of Sale)
  • Provides administrative support to department which includes ordering supplies, maintaining scorecards and communicating to internal and external customers
  • Makes improvement recommendations and implements solutions that support production /  business strategies that support internal and external customers
  • Communicates cost center spend and provides detail of variations to monthly budget

Non-Essential Duties

  • Assists in drafting annual budget for cost center
  • Aids in the development and documentation of processes, such as workflows, cycle times, position responsibilities, or system flows
  • Provides information to management with regard to KPI performance
  • Carries out Skilled Material Handler duties, if needed

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent, College or Trade School preferred
  • 4+ years analytical and/or office experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Intermediate computer skills which includes use of 10-key, data entry, email, and intranet
  • Proficient in desktop aplications (MS Office preferred)

Certificates and Licenses

  • Forklift certified

Working Conditions

  • Required to drive automotive equipment

It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity and alignment with market data.
