General Maintenance Worker

Work Location Geyserville 

Position Purpose

Under direct supervision, the General Maintenance Worker will perform a variety of routine work within established policies and procedures and through detailed instructions on new projects and assignments. This position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to trouble-shoot, repair, adjust, install, maintain, operate, test or otherwise service equipment in support of facility, and production operations. 

Functional Responsibility

Essential Duties

  • Assists in maintaining the property’s exterior landscape. Performs groundskeeping and routine landscape maintenance duties such as maintaining lawns, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, irrigation, and raking 
  • Assists in maintaining or makes improvements to property by planting, pruning, grooming and maintaining of all ornamental trees, shrubs, flowers, lawns and softscape features
  • Assists in the execution of preventative maintenance activities and schedules for buildings and equipment
  • Provides emergent repair and troubleshooting services across a wide range of equipment
  • Cleans, lubricates, repairs, and maintains machinery using hand tools or specialized equipment; replaces or repairs defective parts
  • Assists in testing electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using devices, such as a multimeter
  • Assists with the ordering, purchasing of necessary parts and tools
  • Understands and complies with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations; works in accordance with general safety, OSHA, ISO, FSSC and other certification requirements as applicable
  • Collaborates with other stakeholders and third-party providers to ensure a safe working environment as it relates to tools/equipment, training, work environment, unsafe acts, identifying potential issues or other related safety items; works cohesively with team leadership, operators, administration

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Landscaping experience
  • Building maintenance experience or equivalent experience with emphasis in a related field
  • On-the-job training offered

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • General understanding of building maintenance and basic construction including basic plumbing, basic electrical, landscaping, etc. 
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools
     

Working Conditions

  • Operate a motor vehicle for Company business on an infrequent or unexpected basis occasionally
  • Indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to the elements/temperature variations
  • Exposure to weather-related temperature & humidity extremes
  • Required to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Must be able to pass fit test and perform work while wearing respirators
  • Work at protected heights of 50’
  • Work in close quarters or confined spaces
  • Exposure to varying levels of dust, chemicals, fumes, gases, and noisy equipment 
  • Occasionally may be required to lift and carry cases of wine
