Senior Syndicated Data Analyst (REMOTE)

Position Purpose

Under minimal supervision, the Senior Syndicated Data Analyst supports the Sales and Insights teams with tools and analytics to help drive Delicato’s position of category leadership. This position develops and maintains a suite of analytical tools to be utilized to support the Sales and Insights teams and will play a role in the evolution of Delicato’s analytic capabilities. In representing the state of the business and Delicato Family Wines, this position requires good judgment in acceptable uses of information.

Essential Duties

  • Manages external market data sources, including managing vendor relationships, to support the Sales and Insights teams’ business needs
  • Owns a suite of standard business reports to help the Sales and Insights teams understand category, market and retail trends, competitive trends, risk and opportunity factors as well as market share changes; responsible for maintaining, updating and delivering these reports on a monthly basis, ensuring that they are delivered accurately and on time
  • Responsible for auditing syndicated data sources to continuously ensure quality and accuracy of the data; leads efforts to communicate and correct data issues
  • Leads ad-hoc analyses to support the Sales and Insights teams’ business needs. Develops insights based on the analyses and provides recommendations for the Sales team to execute
  • Works cross-functionally to identify gaps in insights and takes initiative to recommend and develop new analytic solutions for the Sales team to leverage, ensuring analytical rigor and creating consistency for frequently used analysis
  • Develops and maintains tools for the Sales and Insights teams to easily identify distribution growth opportunities and close gaps with distributor partners based on market data and internal depletion data
  • Owns all store level analyses and reporting, and acts as store level subject matter expert
  • Builds collaborative relationships with the Sales and Insights teams as well as external partners
  • Attends and participates in divisional and national sales meetings

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Statistics, Data Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of business analysis experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong skills in various tools and platforms required; strength in Excel, PowerPoint, multi-dimensional tables, Power BI, and the ability to report, graph and present complex information
  • Strong analytical and data management skills with the ability to deliver solutions based on objectives
  • Fluent in Nielsen/IRI scan data analytics. Basic knowledge of household panel and loyalty card data.
  • Ability to distill complex data and methodologies, and communicate insights to cross-functional teams with varying levels of understanding in this area
  • Ability to work and collaborate within a team environment 
  • Strong project management skills and ability to plan and prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with space management tools (Space Planning, Apollo, and Spaceman) preferred
  • Understands the CPG industry, retail channels and strategies, including category management
  • Commitment to quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement

Certificates and Licenses

  • Relevant Category Management certifications highly desirable

Working Conditions

  • General office environment with occasional travel
  • Remote position that requires working from home office
  • Required to drive automotive vehicle or equipment
  • Occasionally may be required to lift and carry cases of wine
